BOX OFFICE MANAGER – JOB DESCRIPTION

The Foster Festival is seeking a Box Office Manager to support our 2022/2023 season. This position reports to the General Manager.

HOURS

  • 30-35 hours/week
  • Will be required to work some evenings and weekends during performances.
  • Position to start immediately
  • Regular box-office hours will be set in discussion with the GM.
  • $17.50-$19/hour based on experience.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Manage Box office sales: Update and maintain online sales system, assist with phone orders, and manage at-the-door sales.
  • Oversee the customer experience and front-of-house operations.
  • Coordinate and assist with training front-of house volunteers.
  • Manage group sales and develop new relationships with tour groups.
  • Database entry and CRM maintenance.
  • Other duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be punctual, reliable and an excellent communicator with strong written and oral skills.
  • An outgoing personality and a positive attitude.
  • Must be comfortable speaking to customers and clients on the phone.
  • Computer proficiency an asset.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to handle varying levels of multi-tasking.
  • Have a strong sense of organization and able to work both independently and in a team.
  • Sales experience and attention to detail is required.
  • Experience working within the arts is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s License is a plus, reliable transportation to work is required.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulation.
  • Must adhere to the Foster Festival’s extensive Covid-19 Safety Measures Document and all other company policies. Copies of these documents will be made available prior to signing a contract.

 

As the Foster Festival’s Box Office Manager your primary focus will be to support event sales by fostering a positive customer experience and helping us to build our client base through group sales. You will get to know our customers and build personal repertoire with members of our community. You will be present at performances to ensure customers gain entry to the performance with proper ticketing access. If any customer disputes come up, you will manage them within our guidelines and policies, and seek assistance from the General Manager when needed. You will work with the General Manager to ensure that the ticketing systems are functioning effectively and meet scheduled launch dates. You will also support the Artistic Producer with reports on audience statistics.
