BOX OFFICE REPRESENTATIVE – JOB DESCRIPTION

The Position of Box Office Representative at The Foster Festival for our 2024 Mainstage Summer Season. This position reports to the Front of House Manager and Artistic Director.

Candidates must be available for the full time period considered.

 

HOURS:

  • 35 hours/week
  • Will be required to work evenings and some weekends
  • This is a 10-12 week position
  • 12 Week Date Range: June 3-August 25, 2024
  • This position is pending funding by the Canada Summer Jobs Program

 

 JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage Box office sales: Update and maintain online sales system, assist with phone orders, and manage at-the-door sales during performances.
  • Oversee the customer experience and front-of-house operations.
  • Coordinate and assist with training front-of house volunteers.
  • Coordinate with the Front of House Manager to welcome large groups at performances.
  • Database entry and Customer Relationship Management Software (CRM) maintenance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be punctual, reliable and an excellent communicator with strong written and oral skills.
  • An outgoing personality and a positive attitude.
  • Must be comfortable speaking to customers and clients on the phone.
  • Must have computer proficiency.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to handle varying levels of multi-tasking.
  • Have a strong sense of organization and be able to work both independently and in a team.
  • Must be able to have a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working within the arts is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s License is a plus, reliable transportation to our offices downtown and to the Mandeville Theatre at Ridley College is required.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Be a Canadian citizen, or permanent resident; and
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations;
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
