Jody Stevens has been a professional actor for over 25 years and has had the privilege of working across Canada, the United States, and the UK.

She grew up in Prospect Bay, Nova Scotia and received her B.A. at Dalhousie University, majoring in Theatre. After working in her home province for a few years, she moved to Toronto where she continued to thrive as an actor, met her lovely husband, Sean, and had their two incredible daughters, Parker and Lucy—and continued to live the dream!

Three years ago, the ocean called them back home to Halifax and the family is now nestled in the loving embrace of salt, sea, friends, family and creativity! Time & Tide was selected to be a part of the Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre’s 2022 writers retreat and received dramaturgical support from Pamela Halstead during that two-week intensive.

Jody is absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to share her work at the Fostered Playwrights Festival this April and is looking forward to receiving feedback on her piece. Her hope is that this play reminds us all to love as fiercely as we can with each day we’re given.

This summer, her family is off to beautiful North Rustico, PEI, where Jody will be playing Doris in Same Time, Next Year and Annie Wilkes in Misery at The Watermark Theatre. Do stop by and catch a show if you happen to be on the island!
